Truth Be Told: Are Usopp’s lies just subconciounce Observation Haki?

Let me begin by first summarizing all of the lie’s that have come true to provide somewhat of a picture towards this foresight. The goal of this article is to discuss whether or not Usopp’s successful prediction of the future is a fluke, or an actual ability he is subconsciously using.

1. First lie (Chapter 23): In short, Usopp was known in Syrup Village (Usopp’s Hometown) for crying wolf about attacking pirates. Little did they know, Kuro’s crew of Black Cat pirates would attack soon after the straw hats arrive at the island.
2. Goldfish poop (Chapter 24): Usopp’s second lie is an exaggerated tale about a giant goldfish whose feces are so large, they form an island. This “story” was later confirmed to be reality be Dorry and Broggy.
3. Tontatta Tribe (Chapter 24): While Usopp was still with Kaya in Syrup Village, he told her there was a country of dwarves as part of one of his elaborate stories. This later held true in Dressrosa, when the straw hat’s aligned with the Tontatta tribe against Donquixote Doflamingo.
4. Luffy’s Bounty (Chapter 114): Usopp makes claims that his first bounty is Luffy’s. Both pirates first bounty ended up equaling at 30 million berries.
5. Sniper King (Chapter 42): Before being aware of his Eagle-eye percision, Usopp makes claims that he is an expert in sniping. Low and behole, Usopp becomes Sogeking.
6. Usopp’s Army (Chapter 42): He lies to the Straw Hat crew about having a large army to back him up. Fast forward to the Dressrosa arc, he becomes known as “God Usopp”, has the loyalty of Albath, Tontatta tribe, and all the toys changed back to humans.

Also honorable mentions are his claim about being involved with a cereberus, catching a dragon, a beautiful swords woman with meat showing up, and a huge mole in Kaya’s mansion can be stretched into this discussion. These tails did not unfold in reality exactly according to his accidental foretellings, but theyre close enough to take a look at. Maybe it was lost in translation, or maybe they were misuses of his observation haki? All we can do is speculate.

Though, one thing is certain, both Usopp and his father (Yasopp) are upper class marksman. Yasopp is notorious for his observation haki and his ability to identify even the smallest details which significantly improve his sniping abilities. It will be exciting to see if Oda reveals a particular power within Usopp that does confirm he can somehow predict or even form the future.
